The mission of the Mountain View Special Needs Ministry is to walk alongside families and children as they navigate the unique waters of living with special needs. We cultivate a community that ensures every individual knows that they are a Child of God, created in the image of God, and that they are loved unconditionally by Him. We pray to share in their joys, heartaches, and challenges with fellowship and programming that offer the love, peace, hope, and acceptance of Jesus Christ.
There is a place for everyone at Mountain View. We believe that children with disabilities should have the opportunity to grow in the Christian faith through a nurturing environment adapted to their special needs.
We offer self-contained and inclusion opportunities on Sundays during the 9AM Traditional and the 10:15AM Contemporary services.
Sunday Morning Opportunities
9AM Traditional Service
We offer self-contained and inclusion opportunities for ages preschool through 8th grade.
10:15 Contemporary Service
We offer self-contained opportunities from 10-11:30AM. Some of our families will worship together in the Contemporary service. Our students love it, especially the music! A group of high school students and adults typically start in the service and then join the self-contained class at 10:30AM.
Special needs children and siblings are invited to attend monthly respite mornings and/or afternoons at the park, at the church or at a variety of fun locations throughout the valley for several hours of fun activities, games, crafts and snacks while parents are given a respite. Trained volunteers are partnered with the students.
Together/ Adult Ministry
Adults with and without special needs are invited to come together in friendship once a month on Friday evening for a themed event or join us as we attend Young Life Capernaum together. (details on the Young Life Capernaum website)
