Family Ministry

The Family Ministry’s goal at Mountain View is that each person would know they are an important part of the family of God. Young or old, child or grandparent, each one is a part of the church family, a family of families. And each one is invited to fully participate in events that are geared for their age range. Family Ministry is less about program and becomes much more about our DNA of supporting, growing, and partnering with families as each one of the church’s ministries seek to work in concert.

Family Connection
Sundays || 9-10AM
Gathering Room

The gathering is held during the 9:00 Worship hour while kids are in Sunday school. Out goal is to build a supportive community for parents of all ages. We spend time sharing, praying, laughing, digging into the word, looking at research, but most of all, supporting one another in this great adventure God has called each of us to. The hope would be that families would then attend worship together at the 10:15 hour.

Adult Prayer Partners

The greatest resources a child can have in their lives, outside of their parents, are quality relationships with other adults. APP is an opportunity to connect kids and adults together in a praying, supporting relationships that we are sure will pay great blessings for all involved. We will have a kick-off luncheon on Saturday, Sept 21st at 11:30 am to start things off, and then a celebration luncheon on Saturday, May 16th. In the middle, APP’s will be praying for their assigned child, writing notes, and other ways to connect. How incredible it would be, if every child in our church had an adult praying for them throughout the year.

Family Worship:

The research is overwhelming. One of the strongest ways to grow a lasting faith in our youth is to worship together as a family. Families are encouraged to pick a service that best suits them whether traditional or contemporary. The 10:15 Contemporary features some very family friendly elements including a Children’s Sermon each week, doughnuts for the whole family, to cool tables and stools in the back for older kids. Families are encouraged to start in worship together. After the Children’s Sermon, PreK – 5th grade are excused to Children’s Church and the older youth stay in worship.

Family Camp:

Held at Camp Pinerock, Family Camp is one of the highlights of the year. It is open to all ages, from preschool to grand parents, it is a great escape to the cooler area of Prescott. Usually help the middle of August, it is the perfect opportunity to get to know your church family, enjoy creative times in worship with lots of laughter, and have the opportunity to roast a couple of marshmallows.
