Sunday

Mornings

10:30am

We’re excited to launch a new Sunday morning rhythm for our youth this fall! Our goal is not just to provide a program, but to help students (6th–12th grade) learn what it means to truly belong to a church family—worshiping, serving, and growing together.

At 10:30am, youth will gather in the Youth Room for a service designed just for them, modeled after Mountain View’s main worship service with a few adjustments for teens. Each week includes:

  • Community Time: Space to catch up, connect, and build friendships.

  • Prayer: Learning and practicing both communal and individual prayer.

  • Music: Singing praise songs together whenever possible.

  • Message: A short Bible lesson tied to our church-wide sermon theme, applied to a 6th–12th grade audience.

  • Guest Teachers: Occasional teaching from our pastors and leaders so students hear from more voices in our church family.

On Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of each month), Youth Group will not meet. Instead, students will worship in the main service with their families so they can fully participate in Communion—the meal that unites us as one body in Christ.

Why 10:30am?
Many students are already serving during the 9:00am service—in Sunday School, nursery, youth orchestra, and coffee/donuts—and we don’t want to pull them away from those vital ministries. This schedule also allows families who attend the 9:00am service to have their students still join youth at 10:30am. In this way, youth remain rooted in the life of the whole church while also having a dedicated time for youth discipleship.

Monthly Lunches

In addition to our 10:30am Youth Service, we’ll also gather twice a month for lunch together—one for middle schoolers and one for high schoolers.

These lunches are designed with two goals in mind:

  • Deeper Relationships: Creating a smaller-group setting where students can build stronger friendships with peers in the same stage of life.

  • Personal Connection: Giving me the opportunity to spend focused time with each group—listening, asking questions, and encouraging them in their walk with Christ.

Because our church calendar is full and vibrant, these lunches won’t always fall on the same Sunday each month (for example, it won’t always be “second Sunday = middle school”). Instead, I’ll share the dates well ahead of time so families can plan accordingly.

Youth Leader Training (High School Juniors & Seniors)
Once a month after Youth Service, we host a leadership lunch for high school juniors and seniors who want to help with middle school ministry (including Forest Home summer camp). We spend time together talking about what it looks like to serve, shepherd, and lead. If your student hopes to be a camp leader, making these gatherings a priority will be expected.

 NEW HERE?

Welcome to Youth Ministry at Mountain View! We are middle school and high school students responding to God’s call on our lives. Come be a part of our community as we learn more about our relationships with Jesus, who He’s made us to be, and how we are called to live in response!
