The latest happenings for you & your family at MVPC
Christmas Eve
Celebrate the joy of Christmas with us on Tuesday, December 24, at one of our identical services at 3pm, 5pm, or 7pm. Each service will feature beautiful music from our choir, an inspiring message from Pastor Steve Beard, and the cherished tradition of candle lighting.
For those unable to join in person, our 5pm service will be livestreamed. Nursery care is available during the 3pm and 5pm services; however, we kindly ask for reservations to ensure adequate staffing.
We look forward to worshiping with you this Christmas Eve!
Exodus Class Begins
Join Pastor Lyn as she teaches from “Exodus.” This Bible Study will meet on Wednesdays, resuming January 8th, at 9:45AM in Meredith Hall. We will also livestream the study for those unable to attend in person.
Exodus is the story of God’s redemptive act with the people of Israel and for all of us. Moses is a powerful figure going from Egyptian prince to murderer and shepherd to leader of Israel at age 80. The story points to what is to come and who is to come---Jesus’ sacrifice and the redemption from sin for all of us.

Caregiver Support Group
Are you a caregiver who feels overwhelmed, anxious, or isolated? Just know that you are not alone! We have a Caregivers Support Group, which meets monthly on the second Thursday. We are currently reading and discussing the book “Loving Someone Who Has Dementia” by Pauline Boss. If you are interested in attending or for more information, please email Pastor Lyn at lync@mtviewpres.org.
Book Circle
Book Circle discusses one book every month. We meet at 10:00 am on the second Monday of the month, September through June.
Hands for Mission
The Hands-for-Mission group knits and crochets blocks that are assembled into afghans, which are donated to a variety of charitable organizations throughout Arizona. We also provide baby blankets to veteran moms with babies. Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month in the EEC room, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. All supplies are provided by Women’s Ministries. Yarns and blocks are available in our cabinets in the EEC room for those who would like to knit, crochet and assemble afghans/blankets at home.
GriefShare Begins
A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week session, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way. GriefShare at Mountain View begins on Wednesday, January 15 at 5:00pm. Email Pastor Kirk at kirks@mtviewpres.org for more information.
Stitching Sisters
Stitching Sisters meets monthly on the third Monday to promote fellowship among women who machine sew or do hand needlework. A devotion is shared before we break for our own sack lunch. Personal projects are regularly in progress. Participation is encouraged in the design and construction of group projects, which are sewn by multiple members. These have included quilts and various home goods which are then offered for sale at the fundraiser in November. Sale money benefits the Women’s Ministries account for distribution to local and faraway missions.
