Beckoning God, you invite us to walk the narrow path and to live the life of a servant. Yet, we are more concerned with position and prestige, being noticed and appreciated, making sure we are in the right place at the right time. Speak to our hearts that we might trust you for all our days, along all our paths, with our every need. Teach us the right balance of pride and humility. Instruct us in living with humble self-esteem that does not neglect the needs of others. Beckoning God, help us to follow on the way that leads to abundant life, even as we pass through the valleys and shadows. Let us follow your call, hear your whisper, and feel your love. Amen.
