Our construction crew is almost complete! 🦺🔨Thank you for helping us build a week where kids can learn that life built on Jesus is Built to Last!
If you’d still like to serve, please email Sarah at sarahf@mtviewpres.org to be placed on our volunteer waiting list. Sometimes extra hands are exactly what a construction site needs!
WHAT THE WEEK LOOKS LIKE:
Throughout the week, children will move through four engaging stations (plus snacks!)—Bible Story, Science, Crafts, and Recreation—each reinforcing our theme, Built to Last: Standing on the Rock.
Bible Story:
At Bible Story, kids will dig into God’s Word to discover what it means to build their lives on a strong foundation. Through engaging storytelling and hands-on moments, they’ll learn how God’s truth is the Rock that never moves—and how trusting Jesus helps us build a life that is truly Built to Last.
Crafts:
At Crafts, kids will get hands-on creating projects that reinforce each day’s lesson. Every craft connects to our construction theme and helps kids remember what it means to build their lives on Jesus, the solid Rock. These meaningful take-home creations serve as reminders that faith built on God’s truth is strong, steady, and Built to Last.
Recreation:
At Recreation, kids will put their energy to work through construction-themed games, team challenges, and plenty of movement. As they play, they’ll learn the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and encouragement—because strong buildings (and strong faith!) aren’t built alone. Recreation reminds us that when we stand together on the Rock, we build something lasting.
Science:
At Science, kids will explore how strong foundations really work. Through exciting experiments and demonstrations, they’ll see why what you build on matters just as much as what you build with. Each activity points back to our theme, showing how God designed the world with order, strength, and purpose—and why standing on the Rock makes all the difference.
👷♀️ Volunteer at VBS
Volunteers are the heart of VBS and play a crucial role in creating a safe, joyful, and faith-filled experience for our kids. Whether you love leading a classroom, helping at a station, or supporting behind the scenes, there’s a place for everyone to help build a week that is truly Built to Last.
Volunteers may serve as classroom leaders or helpers, or at one of our stations—Bible Story, Science, Crafts, or Recreation. When you sign up, you’ll be able to mark your preferences, and we’ll do our best to place you where you’ll thrive.
Youth are welcome to volunteer beginning in 6th grade, making VBS a great opportunity for students to serve, lead, and grow alongside younger kids.
🛠 Volunteer Training
All volunteers are asked to attend one training session. Training will cover expectations, safety procedures, and a walkthrough of the week so everyone feels confident and prepared.
Training Options:
• Sunday, May 17 at 2:00pm
• Sunday, May 24 at 11:30am
