Oc3an View Ministries

Oc3an View Ministries, OVM, is a compassion driven ministry that seeks to respond to the needs of those in Puerto Peñasco, Rocky Point, Mexico who are experiencing the effects of poverty. OVM has a passion to serve alongside partners in Puerto Peñasco to help those in need, while sharing God’s love in word and deed. The breadth of ministry runs from building houses for families in need, distributing clothing, providing meals, assisting local schools, and an active sports ministry complete with a fully equipped batting cage used by teams in the community every night. OVM hosts multiple groups during the year to come down and partner with them. MVPC takes two trips each year, in the fall and in the spring to work alongside and serve in whatever manner is needed. These trips are great opportunities for the entire family, whatever the age, to serve in the name of Jesus.

Steps of Love / AIM Peñasco

Their mission is to provide needy youth in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico, with a path out of poverty through education. They offer assistance with tuition, fees, uniforms, etc. for K-college. They have homework clubs, which provide tutoring and mentoring. If a student is lacking basic necessities such as food and medicine, this is also provided. Special needs students and parents are served as well. Their new therapy center will provide much needed local therapy services for special needs children. MVPC supports their work on an ongoing basis through our mission trips, school supply drives, special needs support for 15 students & their families (both financially and through MVPC special needs counsel), and more. Our goal is to build strong relationships with our partners to help serve the children and youth of Puerto Peñasco.

The ministry involves proclaiming the Gospel, caring for the poor, educating church leaders, and being responsive to needs as they arise (i.e. disaster relief after two hurricanes this year). MVPC has hosted the Cain’s at MVPC on previous trips home and seek to respond to special needs as they arise.

Al-Basma Vocational Training Center in Bethlehem

Al Basma Special Rehabilitation Centre is a place where young adults with learning disabilities can go during the day for training in valuable life and work skills. The center is in Beit Sahour, just East of Bethlehem in an area renowned for its olive wood carving.

The center was founded in 1987 and served just 5 clients when it first opened. Since that time it has grown considerably and now serves 36 young adults aged from 12 years old and up

Clients at the center work during the morning to produce the craft products sold in the center gift shop. Making these products gives the clients work experience and the opportunity to contribute to the running of their organization. The center produces hand-made paper and woven rugs. MVPC teams have made multiple trips to the center to see the work, encourage the leadership, and discover who we can continue to help meet the needs of Special Needs adults and children.
