How does acknowledging God’s power and glory deepen our understanding of who He is?
In what ways does the declaration “For thine is the power and the glory” impact your personal prayer life?
How can we practically honor God’s supreme authority in our daily routines and decisions?
What examples from your life remind you of God’s eternal power and glory?
Application:
This week, intentionally meditate on passages that highlight God’s power and glory. (Psalms such as 47, 93, 97, 145, for a start)
Practice:
Write down or share with your group instances where you experienced God’s sovereign presence in your life.
Guided Prayer:
Pray together the Lord’s Prayer and then pray the prayer below:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.
“Almighty God, we stand in awe of Your power and glory. As we conclude our study of the Lord’s Prayer, we are reminded that all power and all glory belong to You alone. Strengthen our faith and help us live in a way that continually honors Your supreme majesty. May our lives reflect Your eternal power and truth. Amen.”
Sing It: Psalm 147:1 Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. (ESV)
For added enrichment consider singing the Lord’s Prayer or Listening to some artist singing the Lord’s Prayer.
Here is the version we have used in worship by Babette Wood:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven
Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors
As we also have forgiven our debtors
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one
For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever
Amen, Amen
